Cooking Vith Lowe, Episode 1: Chai

I’ll be continuing this series, sometimes with actually useful recipes :)

“... Sometimes you just have to scream, so people look at you strangely and talk about you as if you’re not even there. But, you always know what they are saying. They get very upset when you scream, but often I know that they would just like to scream themselves. I think thats what I find most strange about this world, is that nobody ever says how they feel. They hurt, but they don’t cry out. They’re happy, but they don’t dance or jump around. And they’re angry, but they hardly ever scream because they’d feel ashamed, and nothing’s worse than that. So we walk around with our head’s down and never look up and see how beautiful the sky is.”

- Elisabeth Shue as “Molly” in “Molly.”

    I never normally comment but I nearly died laughing at that hilarious video with a useful recipie! Where do you get the chai ball?

  3. Ayisha at 20 September 08 :: #

    Seriously, this is the best video ever! Some girl is going to be incredibly happy with you! Not only can you make your own chai, but you can do the perfect desi accent! She’ll be laughing every day!

    (As an aside, I’m married to a desi with a real accent, and I do laugh every day. He also makes his own chai, and I’m the luckiest woman on earth!)

  7. salma at 20 September 08 :: #

    the best part is right after you introduce your catchphrase— “because you lowe watching me cook with lowe!” your expression instantly switches to a serious “ok, let’s get started” look, as if you’re mentally preparing yourself to spend the rest of the video being very solemn and down-to-business.

  8. Adeeba at 21 September 08 :: #

    the best part:

    “i feel some kuch kuch in my hota hai”

    hahahaha

    you once said you wanted to learn how to speak urdu so that you’d be able to talk like rani mukherjee. now’s the time. :)

  10. Tee at 21 September 08 :: #

    Love the quote! And chai is the best. But after 10 minutes, isn’t it more like iced chai?
    I’d get that shirt!

  11. Asmaa at 25 September 08 :: #

    “Skin the colour of basmati rice after it has been washed 3 times.”

    Awesome wording there. And generally hilarious video.

  12. Asmaa at 25 September 08 :: #

    Also. What if your skin isn’t brown? Then you have nothing to compare the chai with! Hmm I think this cooking show is inherently flawed…

  13. saara at 28 September 08 :: #

    LOL! you’re evil… i’m trying to surf quietly, not to wake a sleeping husband, and this is what i get?! i’ve been laughing my double roti off here! haha thanks for the laughs :)
