ISNA: Day One Complete

It began very slow. It continued to be slow. But I met some beautiful people, as I always do. Funny how my shirts seem to attract a certain class of people- people who enjoy laughing- activists, etc. A couple from the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs, a young Egyptian woman who sells shirts herself, a former engineer who quit his job to sell Montessori educational materials and “unschools” his kids. And my boothmate, Kori, of A is For Allah [Dot Com] who turned out to be my favorite booth partner ever. At one point her 3 year old daughter was standing on my table with me, with a radical Muslim feminist shirt on and wearing my balloon hat. It was priceless. I love all yous guys.

Oh, and I didn’t finish labelling the lip balm. But it has been selling regularly, with a “I threw it together in my kitchen” schpeel. Mmmm. Schpeel. I’ll try to have pictures up by tonight. Can I get an alhamdulillah?
