Urgent Action. Forward widely. Post on your blogs!

Okay, so a nasty right wing blog is stirring up the scene down here in Pennsylvania.

So, a bunch of my buddies are countering the right winger’s insanity with a phone/email/fax campaign. So, what do you have to do? It would great if people from the 7th district participated (see below description), but frankly, it doesn’t matter… just call.

Here’s the scoop:

Dear Friend,
Peace to you! We are calling to ask for your support on an urgent issue. Congressman Joe Sestak is taking heat from some anti-Muslim constituents for having accepted an invitation to CAIR-PA, Philadelphia Chapter’s annual banquet on April 7, 2007. Why should he support CAIR-PA? Check out CAIR-PA’s website to learn more about the work that CAIR-PA does to build tolerance and understanding in Pennsylvania: http://www.cairphilly.org Don’t let Congressman Sestak walk away with the message that he shouldn’t support some of the most urgent civil rights and interfaith work in the state!

WE NEED TO SUPPORT HIS COMMITMENT TO THIS WORK by phone, fax, or email. Please, follow these easy instructions:
Make a two-minute phone call now:

Contact Congressman Joe Sestak at 610-892-8623 or the DC number, 202-225-2011 and tell him:
· You are a voter in the 7th District [which contains the western and northwestern suburbs of Philadelphia. It is comprised of the majority of Delaware County (except for the City of Chester and some of the eastern boroughs), a portion of Chester County east of West Chester, and a portion of southern Montgomery County in the affluent Main Line area].

· You understand that he has accepted an invitation to speak at CAIR-PA’s annual banquet.
· You want to express your support and enthusiasm for his participation in this event, which demonstrates his support for one of the state’s most important civil rights and interfaith organizations.

To send a fax, copy the below message and send it to 610-892-8628 or 202-226-0280. Or to email, copy this message and paste it at this link http://sestak.house.gov/IMA/issue_subscribe.htm [don’t forget to include your name and address!]:

Dear Congressman Sestak,
I am a voter in the 7th District and am writing to tell you that I support CAIR-PA and am glad that you do, too! CAIR-PA is one of the most important civil rights and interfaith education groups in the state. We in the southeastern part of the state rely on the work of CAIR-PA which brings the diverse communities within our district together in a spirit of mutual understanding, respect, and enrichment.

I plan to attend CAIR-PA’s annual banquet on April 7, 2007 and I look forward to seeing you!
Sincerely,

thanks for posting this. calls make all the difference. what’s scary is that a lot of muslim-americans don’t get how incredibly important it is that our reps hear our voices. the truth is, they only really respond to the squeakiest wheels. squeak up!

Welcome! This site serves two main purposes: to entertain and educate the Believing and curious community, and to generate a bit of cash—God willing. But there’s a lot more about HijabMan.
